How are they so good at making quality food and furniture yet completely inept at haircuts? Currently at an Amish farm outside of Lancaster PA and I swear i havent seen a semi decent bowl cut on any of these guys. The bowl cut looks ridiculous but these things are at weird angles and such.

Because they get them from Men at Night.
I’ll show myself out

You’re posting here about other men’s haircuts.

I always felt they were overpriced

They are nice people. Why does their haircuts bother you so much?

Ha. I'm sure they just focus on cutting it out of their eyes. Ask them? Also ask them why it's their style of choice.
What are you doing there anyway? Run into the amish mafia folks?? Ha

There's a small community right outside of College Station. I asked a guy one time and he told me that was their style. He then asked me why do some men spike their hair or let grow long in the back.

Just a general observation. Its sticks out like a sore thumb when talking to a guy that has a bowl cut that starts near the mid forehead by the left ear and works it's way down to the opposite temple. Didnt know if anyone here has family that's amish and could elaborate.

I guess he doesn’t party.

And then you pointed out that whole groups of people don't spike their hair or let it grow long in the back. Individuals do that. Then he looked dumbfounded for a moment before staggering off, having had his whole world turned upside down.

I don't have family that is Amish, but live outside a large community here in Illinois. One of my first jobs was working at a Amish restaurant. They bought our old grade school (Was K-2, I was the last class in that school, before moving to the new elementary school) and had all of their products in the classrooms and had a buffet. (It did close down a few years back, but have Yoder's kitchen in their community. Good food)

Because the Amish believe it is sinful to be flashy or draw attention to yourself so uniformity in dress and grooming is standard

I have some old Amish roots...
As far as haircuts, I am sure it is all done manually by scissors by whatever relative fancies themselves a barber. They probably cut them pretty infrequently. For them, being super well groomed is probably a sign to them of being "worldly".
Every Amish order is different in how they apply their rules and how strict they are. The local bishop makes most of those calls. Things like how plain their clothes are varies from one group to the next. Some allow Rumspringa and some don't. Most don't use electricity, but they will use a diesel powered generator with an air compressor to operate their workshop tools. Some allow for certain kinds of tractors, but the tires have to be steel, and others only use horses with a plow.
The speak Pennsylvania Dutch, which is a form of German. Most of their roots are Swiss-German, and they originated from pacifist Anabaptist movements in Europe in the 1500s.

Because they don't care how their haircut looks.

People make fun of the Amish but I bet the crime rate within their communities is damn near non existent.

They have their run ins with law enforcement, not much, but there are a few bad apples. Nothing like the TV show Anish mafia, that doesn't exist. Parties and alcohol mostly. The real crime is people disrupting thier communities and driving like assholes. We went out to a wild animal park the other night and had a few kids dart across the road when it was pitch black.

So that TV show is just complete BS. That’s what I thought .
