Isn't it interesting that each of these problems seem to be a lot bigger today than they were at the time.

I really place blame on our horrible politicians using social problems for political gain. Just look at racial politics. It is horrible how this administration has tried to exploit this issue. 2016 can't get here soon enough. I don't care who wins but, I just want this administration out of office.

I also blame the 24 hour news cycle for a lot of our problems. They drive the agendas as they feel for to do so.

The 80's was better.

America was optimistic in the 80's. It began to decline during the Clinton years IMHO.

It all comes from leadership. Ronald Reagan played a major role in our years of prosperity that we enjoyed until 9/11. When that day happened this country changes and id still reeling from the aftermath of that horrible day. George Bush (43) almost restored the country but, the Democrats and media worked hard to take him down. Then, Obama was elected and he has profoundly damaged this nation to a level that may never be repaired.

Make no mistake about it, Obama is the worst leader than America has ever had and we will be lucky to remain in tact as a result of his anti-american policies. Those of you who were fooled into voting for him, own this mistake. I hope you have learned a lot about politics and media from this failed experiment.

I love my country and I fear for our future.

There always has to be the one dumb arse to come in and ruin a good thread.

Same, Price is Right in the mornings during the summer, playing SNES, going to the pool, having to remember your friends lan lines because that's the only way you could reach them.

Def the end of simpler times. People had computers, but not everybody, same with cell phones. This pretty much ended any privacy.

Yeah, and guess what we did then: just went about our day. Now we're obsessed with this and see danger around every corner. We've turned into a nation of cowards. Even with the higher crime rates, the 90s was a much better time to grow up in than it is now.

How did LSUWag ruin it? I think that was damn strong statement!

If you were growing up in the 80's you would totally understand.

I wish I was a teenager in the 90's. The stuff from the ninties that carried over to the 2000's were awesome. I would say all the advances in technology ruined it. 2007 is my year where everything seemed different, weather it be the invention of the iphone, or PS3 and 360 where games looked like real life, that is where it ended.

So I'm guessing you grew up in the 90s. Willing to bet anyone who grew up in the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s would say the same thing about their decade. It's called being young, having your parents pay for stuff, and not really having to worry about bills, jobs, reality, etc.

BTW, 80s destroys 90s when it comes to cartoons. And while I enjoyed coming of age in the 90s, I'm pretty sure the 80s were a lot more fun and loose for young adults. 1990s is when someone decided that everything fun or interesting is offensive.
