GI Joe was about military vs terrorists and no one ever died. How do you have a show about war where no one dies?

I tried to find some Square One episodes to show my son. The picture quality was so terrible I decided it wasn't worth it.

I grew up in the 70's and 80's... and I won't come on here and say that any of the 70's, 80's and 90's stand out as superior, in that group. They all had strengths and weaknesses, honestly. But that was a pretty damn good three decades.
I will agree with the OP, though. The 2000's and the 2010's have been shite. Really. 9/11 really did change a lot of things in our country, and not for the better. I think more than anything, these two decades for many reasons have made people retreat into themselves. There's less shared cultural experience as a nation. There's no community anymore, and when we do congregate, we are still standoffish as individuals.
Our technology these days is pretty incredible, but I really feel sorry for the children of the 00's and the 10's. It's a depressing period of time, and prosperity seems so far away for so many. We need to learn how to lighten up and have fun again.

The 80's was better.
America was optimistic in the 80's. It began to decline during the Clinton years IMHO.
It all comes from leadership. Ronald Reagan played a major role in our years of prosperity that we enjoyed until 9/11. When that day happened this country changes and id still reeling from the aftermath of that horrible day. George Bush (43) almost restored the country but, the Democrats and media worked hard to take him down. Then, Obama was elected and he has profoundly damaged this nation to a level that may never be repaired.
Make no mistake about it, Obama is the worst leader than America has ever had and we will be lucky to remain in tact as a result of his anti-american policies. Those of you who were fooled into voting for him, own this mistake. I hope you have learned a lot about politics and media from this failed experiment.
I love my country and I fear for our future.

HeMan is hard to watch now. It's so bad.
It really is terrible.
I watched the 2000x cartoon though and it's pretty great. You have to get over Skeletor's voice though.
I tried watching voltron a few years ago and it was beyond awful. I can imagine he man would be just as bad.
I was born in 1981, and I loved the 90s, it was a great time to grow up.
I have recent experience with the old He-Man, Voltron, and Transformers. All are terrible now, but I think HeMan is the worst. Voltron was still cool when he pulled his blazing sword, Transformers still had characters I'll always love, but HeMan...smh. Even the action scenes are bad.

I hated the 90s. Crack was everywhere and the murder rate was out of control, plus LSU football was terrible

I've had a good time in each decade, but I couldn't imagine life without smartphones. I just recently went on a trip with my buddies and services like uber, yelp, Google maps, and espn made are trip a million times more fun. If I had to choose a decade I'd prefer to live in, the one I'm in is the best. I'm from a generation who dates back before the Internet and cell phones, we who know how to have fun without mordern technology which makes us appreciate it a lot more than the younger generations
So what you're saying is you've gotten old and lazy and prefer modern day conveniences as a result.
I'd love for things to revert back to they way they were in the 90s. We are too connected now. Things were simpler then and I flat out enjoyed life more.
you sound like a angry old man. how is using uber, yelp, google maps and espn being lazy? uber is a vast improvement over traditional taxi's(which were around long before the 90s), google maps is a lot easier to use than the thomas guide(or do you carry one daily), yelp allows you to avoid a shitty restaurant, and espn saves you the trouble of wasting 25 cents on a newspaper just to read a day old box score.
i love the 90s, especially the music and movies, but i sure as shite don't miss dialup internet and america online. Sure maybe twitter can be annoying sometimes when idiot athletes tweet their mindless thoughts, but i find it hilarious when people say we have too much technology or something like that; would you prefer to live in a cave ?

I spent the first half of the 90's in college.
Good times- sorta like the 80's, but with Pearl Jam and Nirvana.
The late 90's werent as good, but better than what's followed.
Downhill ever since.

Yep. I've made a damned good living off of that social problem.
I didn't bring up Crack Cocaine because the majority on this board think that all drugs are harmless and that there isn't violence attached to the drug trade. I consider it to the the third rail of the O-T Lounge.
Still, I really miss those days. Life was so much simpler back then.

Which makes it ironic that parents are more protective now than ever and we're a culture that is solely motivated by fear and not hope. The mentality of this country has reached a new low.

it was simpler for most on this board because we were teenagers or in college
but as a whole, we still had wars, terrorist attacks, racial tensions, disease scares, high drug usage, high crime rates, etc
