Came here to post this. Definitely not the first 100K truck

Can you people not fricking read? The article clearly says "first Ford production truck over $100K" the fricking Shelby is NOT a Ford production unit.

Also, You have to be a certified Shelby dealer to carry this truck, just like any other conversion company.

lol the 718 S is 66.4k I was factoring in the ~14k worth of options

There are folks out there saying that the 718 S is the way to go - setting aside cost, the Carrera (below the true top of the mark trim levels) has gotten fat and lazy - kind of like Arden Key -

For me, if I"m in the market for a barely sub $100K sports car, it's Corvette all the way. In fact next year is the 65th birthday, and I may just treat myself.

Thanks for the clarification, I was just going off the title of the post and did not read the article.

I apologize for being so careless, it won't happen again.

See that it doesn't.

typical target customer is someone who tows a $250,000 horse trailer with million-dollar horses on board, or a six-figure boat, and is looking for a truck to match

I mean. He isn't wrong. My uncle just bought three 2018 Ram 3500 Laramie Longhorns, at roughly $80k a pop, for himself and the 2 of his sons that work for him.

They use them to pull horse trailers, and to deliver parts for his business.

If they ever decided to actually look at Ford, they would probably buy the one in the OP.

The people buying these types of trucks are why it's so hard to find a real truck these days that you aren't afraid to beat up on a little.

I just always buy the base model Silverado work truck, and mod it as I want. Usually just level it and put some decent tires on it, and tint the windows a bit. ALl in all, costs about $30,000 and has no power locks and crank windows but it has everything I want and need in a truck.

A) good for you, just because that truck suits YOUR needs doesn't mean everyone else has to settle for it

B) I'm not sure even the most base model Silverado can be had with manual windows and door locks anymore.

But how are you going to tow your jet boat?

Don't you have "people" that take of that for you?

Half the time I am sandy, salty and sweaty when getting in my truck. I would feel bad doing that to leather seats and carpet, so I like vinyl. I can just hose it out when needed.

Mine is a 2012, and has crank windows and manual locks. No CD player or AUX either. Looks like the 2017s do have power locks but couldn't find anything about windows.
