We are at a campground. We ate with our family and some random guy from Washington state who was by himself a few spots over.
Fed him his first gumbo. He couldn’t believe how good it was; even asked for leftovers to freeze. Said he appreciated the invite and would be eating ramen by himself if we hasn’t asked.
There are a bunch of Asians crammed into 4 spots next to us. They are sleeping 6-8 deep in tents, playing English Christmas music so loud at night while they get wasted on something in weird bottles and eat smelly food while they scream Asian things.
Every time I walk by I hope they will invite me over but they never do.

Had a pleasant time with both sides, but then again based on past crazy shite from in-laws, mostly MIL battling with SIL and BIL, a peaceful day is well deserved.

Update Bunyan
I am sorry to inform nothing major happened during the drinking game, although before my grandparents left they got into an argument about leaving leftovers at our house or bringing it with them. One of my fat uncles jumped in and said "he would take care of it" so he basically took home all the leftovers
The day was entertaining as frick. Last night I couldn't update as I went around town with my family looking for stores we assumed there would be Black Friday fights and/or stampedes. We weren't disappointed

Last evening my aunt brings a new guy to the family dinner. He's of native Indian decent and looks, well, Indian. My other aunt has been boozing with my mom for a while before dinner. We sit down, all 13 of us to eat dinner. My aunt with the new guy offers up the prayer. New guy says some Indian style prayer. My drunk aunt laughs hysterically and proceeds to make the "wawawawawa" noise with her hand and mouth. Imitating and Indian. Aunt with the Indian guy runs over with a knife and grabs my other aunts hair and proceeds to attemp to scalp her. It was absolute chaos! People yelling, screaming and some crying. She only cut a few hairs, put the knife down and stormed out. Everyone pretty much bolted. I stayed and ate food. Thank baby Jesus my wife's family is more calm and we hung out with them today.
ETA: Sorry this wasn't my story but it was too good to not let you read. Came from another forum that I read regularly.

I went to Thanksgiving #2 on the other side of the family. Antifa family. Nobody brought up politics so everything was fine.
Thanksgiving #3 is tomorrow and this part of the family is always picture perfect, right out of a Publix commercial..... however..... some redneck Alabama fans married in last year so the dynamic could change. Nothing stays perfect forever.

My wife's cousin was going to come up from Houston in the morning but one of her kids has a fever.
So NO guests. It's going to be glorious. I might even head to the lake in the afternoon to do some fishing.
