My dad asked me to kill him.
He is the caretaker of my dementia mom and said he told his doctor he would kill himself if he ever got that bad. His doctor said it wouldnt be possible because you wouldnt even know you owned a gun, wouldnt know how to operate it, etc.
So my dad began telling me where his pp7 is hidden and where the bullets were.

Welp, I guess I can chime in which isn't very often in terms of bad holiday moments.
Youngest niece just got the courage to inform my mother she isn't invited to her med school graduation at UMiami in May. Apparently they are only allotted 5 seats per and she said the 5th seat would go to a college friend. Could have heard a pin drop when mom rose from the table and quietly sobbed to her bedroom. She already has the plane ticket, hotel etc booked.
Oldest sis is also quite steamed at niece now. Deciding if I want to troll this sitch for some good anger or just let it play itself out.

ETA: I would also expect an adult to understand that not everyone can be invited.

Invited her back in August when all the final dates played out. This was a change to the list I guess you might say. Huge slap in the face to the Matriarch. It's only 5:30... :poursvodka:

Dang. I don’t have anything good to say. My sister is at her FIL’s. It’ll be FIL and bus wife, MIL and her boyfriend, my sister BIL and niece. The MIL and FIL start drinking and try to outdo and one-up each other. It always makes for an uncomfortable time.
Last year FIL got so drunk at our house at Christmas he fell down in the den...twice. My sister no longer hosts holiday dinners.

Damn dude. Demntia is tough. My maw maw had it and it’s one of the hardest things to see a loved one go through that. Still miss her like crazy.
On a lighter note, I hosted thanksgiving this year and everyone is gone now. About to switch to whiskey so I’m good and primed for the saints game tonight.
