Only a few of us going to my mom's house for thanksgiving this year, and I'm cooking a meatball stew. No way in hell I'm cooking a turkey and sides for what will prolly be 5 people.

A smoked butt portion ham is better than the spiral cut ones.

Mac and Cheese shouldn’t be a thanksgiving side dish.

The frick??? My wife makes her mother's homemade Mac and cheese recipe at Thanksgiving and it's one of the things I look forward to actually eating..

I do fresh with garlic, red pepper flakes, olive oil on the stove, then sprinkle w/ Parm and put in the over to toast, but mixing it with bread crumbs, hadn't done, except as sprinkled on top of the beans then Parm on top. Also works well with asparagus

Stuffing cooked in a turkey? Bad idea,

Stuffing done correctly on the side by the right person can be delicious.

If a person makes a good dish they should not be allowed to make substitutions without consulting the group

Stuffing is cooked in the Turkey

Dressing is the side dish

False. I am about to test the featured cocktail even now. Just to make sure it’s good. How else can I deal with the in-laws?!

Chances that an OTer posts about a ‘hot’ relative tomorrow? (w/o pics, of course?)

It's a New Orleans wide recipe. I grew up with it and so dud my wife. It's in the Entergy cookbook but probably found elsewhere for many decades past.

I remember visiting a friend on Florida for Thanksgiving one year as an adolescent and hearing they were having green bean casserole thought "great, I'll like that." It's was that mushroom soup stuff and I thought to myself wth?

Cornbread Dressing is the GOAT holiday side dish. Nothing else comes close imo.

I don't know if I'd rank it so highly but it can be good.

Like all things, if done right it's great, done poorly will turn you off for a long time.

I've taken a liking to squash casserole.

It ain’t about the food. It’s about family and God.

Only if it's poorly done. Moisture is the key! (And the enemy)

Depends on if they cover it and pineapples and sweet shite. If they do a proper turkey stands well above
