I simply don't believe this unless the 10 people are eating hotdogs and chips. Hell, even that would likely be around $100.

From Walmart as of 0700 25 November 2024

15 LB Turkey at $.88 a pound $13.20
14 servings green beans, $.50 per 3.5 servings, $2
12 Servings Mashed Potatoes $3.57
12 servings Turkey Stuffing $1.94
10 servings turkey gravy $2.84
12 rolls $1.38
11 servings tea $2.98
10 servings pumpkin pie $9.14

$37.05. Figure about $10 for miscellaneous ingredients for mixes etc. so $47.05.

This is a meat, 3 sides, bread, desert and drink for $4.70 a person. Very doable. The problem is no one would consider a meat, 3 sides, bread, desert and drink an appropriate thanksgiving dinner

Instant bullshite in a can or box?
Why didn't you just select Ramen noodles to show us how you could feed a family of 10 on less than $10?

The problem with this is it means shite like sweet potatoes did go up 30% but they wanted to convince us inflation wasn’t bad.

24 Wieners $5.97
24 Buns $4.38
13 servings of wavy potato chips $2.86
113 servings mustard $.98
53 servings ketchup $1.94
24 Servings of soft drink $4

$20.13 to feed 12 people 24 hotdogs with ketchup, mustard, chips and 2-12 oz soft drinks for 12. Make it a gourmet meal and add chili for $12 or $32.13 for 12 people.

This is the issue. First off these are actual prices from Walmart.com as of 0800 November 25, 2024. It is not an imagined number as is $100 to feed 10 people hotdogs and chips.

The reason $100 seems about right is first off no one would eat that great value shite listed above because it ain't good enough for them....they gotta have the name brands. Second of all they would be buying a whole lot of other shite when they went to buy the hotdog meal for 10 people, stuff like plates, cups, ice, napkins maybe....and finally they'd have to buy more tham just hot dogs and chips...like beer, desert, several choices of potato chips, dip - all manner of stuff. That is how Thankgiving dinner goes from $4 a head on paper to $30 a head in reality because we are not happy with a meat, 3 sides, bread and desert...we have to have a choice of several means, dozens of sides, dozens of desert and drink beer and wine all day.

If the entire meal comes from your garden. I spent almost that much on hot pepper jelly, cheese and crackers.

Actualy showed how you could cook a decent thanksgiving dinner for 10 people for about $40 or $4 a head. I understand that as middle class Americans we can no more eat a green bean from a can than we can fly, I get that, but at the end of the day this is a meat, 3 sides, bread, gravy and desert plus a drink for $4....and 50 years ago it would have been pretty typical of what a young family of 4 or so would have had for thanksgiving dinner....

This is eating garbage though. It’s literally trash.

Cheap hot dogs, off brand chips and sugary drinks.
