My grandfather and my grandmother are in the hospital, both have bilateral pneumonia, both in respiratory failure, both signed DNRs and DNIs, and are not in the room together because of a fricking charting issue and China-virus worries.

They would have been married for 60 years in April. My grandfather is isolated right now because he supposedly tested positive for China-virus (even though they tested him last Friday and said he was good and then tested him just a couple hours ago and said he had it so who the frick knows if he has it or not as test results do not come back in mere hours). I can’t imagine what both of them are going through and I wish I could be there to give whatever comfort I could.

Making matters worse is my mom’s younger brother, their only son, is on hospice because he’s eaten up with cancer. This is likely to kill him as well. He’s in his early 50s, four kids.

But thanks to goddamn China, I can’t go up there, my mother, their daughter, can’t go up there. None of my brothers can go up there, my dad can’t go up there. Nobody. They’re alone and are probably about to pass on. Unbelievable.

Im sorry to hear that.

Nobody in my family is sick from this yet, but with a large family it's bound to happen. China will pay dearly for this.

China needs to be demoted as a world leader. They are a menace to global society.

A buddy of mine just lost his father in law to the virus and now his mother in law has it and in the hospital. Chances are his wife might lose both her parents and cant say good bye to either.

So sorry you cant be there with them buddy. It's one of the worst aspects of this pandemic is having to leave the care of love ones to strangers.

Thanks.

I’m not really sad yet, more pissed at the situation. They should be able to be together as they pass on.

I'm so sorry for your feelings of helplessness. Can you wrap yourself and your Mother in fond memories? With the decades, there are memories waiting to be remembered.

This is bullshite!!!

All because of a bunch of Chicken Little chickenshits.

As long as you are an adult and sign a waiver acknowledging the risk. You should be able to visit terminally ill residents.

Would love to, but mom is getting sick as well. She needs to go get tested.

They told my grandparents when they first got sick that they tested positive for the flu, tested for COVID and it was negative. Now they both have bilateral pneumonia and my mom has been taking care of them all week. My mom took them to the hospital today and they tested my grandfather for COVID and came back a couple hours later saying he has it.

I wasn’t aware that the results came back in just a couple of hours.

Hell, my dad isn’t even able to be with my mom right now because of the possibility that she’s getting COVID. At the very least, my mom is coming down with the flu.
