Interested in some opinions outside my bubble. I gave my son my Batman so I am sans GMT Master II so I plan to get another and I just sold off 4 watches so that along with the last two 4 digit Daytonas I sold are burning a whole in my watch money brokerage account. I haven't gone on a spree in 7 years but I feel it coming.
As for the GMT Master II I don't want another Batman because I gifted mine to my son for a life achievement so I want to leave him as the only one in the family with one. I have it down to three options a Pepsi on Jubilee (though I will take Oyster if I get it first at retail). I have always longed for an Albino 6542 so I like a white dial so I will throw the 126719 with the white meteorite dial as well as the Tudor in the mix.
I want a Home Time/Dual time watch that displays the second timezone on a 12 hour scale my ideas are the VC Overseas 7900V, the PP Aquanaut 5164 and the PP Nautilus 5990 which also has a chrono. The VC may actually be the hardest for me to get at retail since I only like the blue (white and black have a red dual time zone hand that I don't like) and the blue is boutique only and I have ZERO juice at VC boutiques.
I am breaking a rule but I have decided I want an annual calendar, the two front runners are the Rolex SS Skydweller 336934 but I am undecided on color (blue/green/white/black) or a PP Nautilus 5926
I haven't thought past these three spaces yet and it is possible that I will double up on one of the categories. Just curious about others thoughts on these and anything else that fits the 3 general niches. It won't be a fast process because I won't pay secondary market prices.

My primary pusher has Patek and my wife and I have bought 40+ watches from him over time. He is also a fairly close friend of over 35 years separate from his business. The only time he turned me down was when I was second on his list to get a green 5711 and he only got one. He also knows I am not a flipper. That isn't to say I won't have to wait because they don't fall from trees similar to Rolex.

I would go for the 5164. That’s a perfect watch to me.
That travel time function is so easy, intuitive, and awesome. And it’s cool that it doesn’t look like a dual time when not in use.

If the gray opaline dial was still in production my mind would be made up on those three and the 5164 it would be, it isn't and I have to see the shade of blue in person it is not super inspiring.

The assymetrical crown placement on the dual time VC irks me for some reason.

To me..the JLC Polaris perpetual is ..the perfect watch
But for the price the Skydweller in Blue >Mint is next.

I was bored and went to a rolex store near me. Rolex must be on drugs with what they're charging for the pre owned watches. Their pricing is insane...

Their watches really don't depreciate so there's that.

Yeah, it’s kind of crazy. My FIL has a 1970s oyster quartz. look those frickers up. Expensive as shite.

I love that meteorite face so it would be really hard to go with something other than that.
And yes, jubilee goes fantastic with the Pepsi.
Post gmt porn if you get it.

The secondary market has been nuts for 8 years or so now for Rolex and certain other brands like Patek. It has cooled some but it is still crazy and I have been hearing how the bubble was going to burst for all of that 8 years.

That is part of the rub, the white meteorite dial only comes in WG and only on Oyster. I prefer the Oyster on all the other bezels but the Pepsi I prefer on Jubilee. I just wish they would make an Albino but that sort of vintage stuff they leave to Tudor these days.
I guess the issue is I really want a matte white dial on Jubilee and while the meteorite dial gets part of the way there I am bristling at paying over 4 times the price for PM. It isn't like I don't love the black dial especially on Jubilee.
It will likely come down to which I am blessed to be offered first. The Rolex gods think they know best for us so who am I to argue with their wisdom.

I'm as dyed in the wool for Rolex as it gets, but even I think their CPO prices are ridiculous and out of line with the market.

If I were spending that money, I would go
(1) WG Pepsi meteorite, yes I know Jubilee is better, but damn I love WG, and I myself have tooo many black dial GMT's. I would be picky about wanting to fine the right meteorite dial, which would be my downfall I'm afraid.
(2) VC Overseas 7900V, though I want to say Aquanaut because you will have two other bracelet watches, there is something about the color blue and the harmony of that dial design that I would have a hard time passing on. The 5990 has too much going on for me.
(3) The 5926, because it is quite simply very close to perfection. I'm as much of a Coronet devotee as anyone on this thread, but I do not love the Sky, though part of it is I don't like the way it wears for me.
*for all the Hawg fans out there, I notice that Sam Pittman wears a two tone SkyDweller on an Oyster.

That is the other issue, I have seen great ones and I have seen meh ones. That is a big PM premium to pay to end up with a meh one and I will likely only get one shot. My dealer likes me but isn't going to indulge "the right dial" OCD.

We were at the Vacheron boutique in NYC recently and I fell for the 7900. I will say if I had been you and liked colored gold I would have left with a 5520 it is magnificent and do over the top.

The 5926 is in the lead because as you say it is near perfect, since this is only 3 watches and I really have 5 slots to fill I may get them both if I have a chance. The fact the Sky-Dweller is available in steel now means I can test out the interesting movement and the Ring Command without the PM cost and obviously I won't lose any money if I choose not to keep it. Plus it is the only Oyster case watch that has a current line that I have never owned. That included the Yacht Master II until they thankfully put it out to pasture. (ETA that may have been confusing but I never owned a YMII) Rolex got the US trademarks for land-Dweller and Coast-Dweller so who knows what's up next.

Honestly I'm so happy to see people still appreciate good watches/jewelry in the age of fitbits and apple watches.
I don't even care if it's a Seiko or swatch I love all watches even my Tokyoflash pimpin' ain't easy.
I still wear it on the occasional date night because it's got that "pimp time" feature where the LEDs light up every 5 minutes.
ETA NOT me, just a random guy on YT
I really love their nixie tube watches too made from surplus Russian stock from the 1960s.

The fact that yoir BP only warranted two upvotes tell you how uppity this place is.

Ive accidentally ordered that watch 2 or 3 times now falling asleep with my phone in my hand.
I wake up every time in a panic and request a refund.
One day I will not.
