Well, it’s official. I’m poor. Nice collection!
It's all where you allocate your funds. There are guys on the some of the watch forums with starter homes and driving Honda Accords/Camrys while having impressive watch collections.

Thank you. Unfortunately, all they could tell me about it was they purchased it from an estate sale where it was found in the late grandfather's drawer. I contacted JLC to get some history on the watch and they wanted me to send it to Switzerland and pay like $400 to get a full history of the piece and a certificate of authentication. I may still do it one day, however that's just way more hassle and money than I want to spend at the moment.

Picking up a omega seamaster 2254.50 this weekend. Will need to be sent off to service its running around -15 per day and case back has never been opened.

I really wanted the white version of that watch at one point. Its a great watch. Although Omega has seriously saturated the market with the number of Seamaster versions they have, it is still an absolutely class timepiece. Let me know how you like it. That 41mm is a great size for a dive watch.

Its hard for me to even keep up with all the Omega releases/variations these days. Just too many versions of the same watch out there so I stick to the older stuff.

My actual Friday watch next to the Omega I inherited from my grandfather. Was a Christmas gift from his wife in 1958. That Seiko 5 I've put through hell, crystal is scratched and pock marked from welding spatter, wear doing yard work and construction yet still keeps time just fine.

Another Tudor.
Today I have my ETA based Tudor Black Bay Heritage 79220N 41mm on. Which by the grime hiding in the corners you might rightfully guess it is my favorite everyday watch that I grab when I want something sturdy and I'm going out of rotation.
This watch was only made for 5 months before being replaced with the 79230N with the MT5602 in-house movement. The in-house is superior in every technical way but I prefer the ETA based watch for several reasons and the ETA based movement BBs trade for about 40% more than their "better" siblings on my last look at watchcharts.com. For me, I prefer the Tudor Rose on the dial, the smiley face text, the fact it is thinner, and doesn't have the faux rivets on the bracelet. I lot of other people like this also but it seems the 79220N mainly holds value well because it was only made for 5 months. The price difference between the new and old versions of the burgundy and blue bezel versions is essentially nil. The only issue I can think of is it does not have a half link and the clasp offers limited adjustability leaving some people with the too loose or too tight conundrum. It is also rather slab sided but never bothered me.
I love the gilt dial and it is one of my favorite everyday watches and taking out the name and technical advantage of the movement I actually prefer it to the No Date Sub and maybe the date Sub (but not my SD 4K 116600).
I include a picture of the 779230N so the differences are obvious. As of last year the 779230 versions were all discontinued.

This would be in the running if I only had a one watch collection.

Very nice. My last post was a Blackbay 58. I’m also a big fan of the gilt dial, but like you said, the faux riveted bracelet isn’t ideal. I’ve seen people order a Ranger bracelet to put in the bb58, but it’s $850. Might be worth it for the T-fit clasp though.

Sweet Tudor. I don’t own one, but if I did I’d want a smiley rose model. Even on the Ranger.
Today’s submission:
Currently wearing the SRPE39 Manta Ray
I picked up a NTH Nacken Renegade this week that has an awesome dial that reflects blue, bronze, or silverish. I went from a beads of rice to a Forstner rivet and it really works.

I like the Peter Blake’s. Perfect size for me for everyday wear and will fit under a cuff.
I’m keeping an eye out for a 2254.50 and a 2255.80 (blue dial/steel bezel Peter Blake). I may liquidate some of my less expensive watches and wait for the right one to come up.

This can't be, I read in this very thread that the only people who buy Tudor are people who can't afford Rolex.

Rather pedestrian and not particularly legible, but one of the best proportioned watches of all time and a classic befitting a 55 yr old man.I always enjoy having this one on my wrist and it works in so many different settings.
Stands in contrast to what I had on yesterday - bigger than I generally like to wear, but imminently legible and def flies under the radar to a non-watch person. I don't wear this very often, and really only keep it out of its historical significance. It is the cal. 3861 version with the Hesalite crystal.

Then you need to reread from post from 5/10
quote:
There is difference between adding a Tudor to your Rolex collection vs only buying a Tudor.
No one is walking in to buy their first Rolex Sub is walking out with a Tudor.
If still in disbelief, I'd suggest venturing to the Rolex forum where this is discussed.

Well no shite, if they are looking to buy a Rolex sub they likely aren't walking out with an Omega Seamaster either. What does this have to do with the price of tea in China

But, someone looking to buy a dive watch may choose to buy a Tudor Black Bay over a Rolex Sub.

If ADDING to their Rolex collection, which is my entire point.
People buying a Tudor as their only/first watch is doing so because they cannot yet spring for the Rolex.
