Ever thing it's not the O2 Sensor? The wiring is probably the problem. The code is for the circuit, not the sensor.

this sounds like a racket. i cant believe louisiana does this. i refuse to get one since i moved back to louzyanna. i can check my lights, horn, brakes, windshield wipers, tires and tire pressure, etc. all by myself like a big boy.

Emissions need to be regulated, not just for the environment, but because it's the air we breathe. And having vehicle safety equipment like brake lights, turn signals, et cetera, checked annually is a public safety measure.

POS with bald tires is not as much of a risk to me as a shiny new Tahoe with a chick scrolling Instagram.
Valid point

Of course Harris County is going to go along with the bullshite emissions testing.
You think they should just ignore federal law (in this case the Clean Air Act)?
It isn’t up to the county.

I'm so excited. Now i don't have to find some rando car to hook up to the machine to renew my GTR's registration.

This is apparently not so common sense.

$78 a year to get an inspection sticker from the County for a Chevy Silverado. There are so many toll roads in TX that they're not going to miss the money.

I'm likely in a huge minority in saying I don't mind the fee at all. This $7.50 plus the yearly registration is still well below $100.00 combined. The gas tax per gallon is also somewhat reasonable. Overall, Texas has a very good highway system and is well maintained for all drivers. Much better than other states who likely pay more than we do annually. Could be much worse, like Colorado, where paying a cool grand to register a car is common.

Come up to the Midwest where the roads get bathed in salt and calcium chloride 5 months a year. Vehicles are rotted out in 10 years. No inspections in this state.

I'd gladly pay $7 or even $70 to not need this stupid fricking sticker that's nothing but an excuse for police to set up checkpoints and pull working people over.
It ain't got shite to do with safety or emissions or a damn thing else. It's to provide a reason to pull over people who aren't doing a damn thing wrong enough to justify it, and only if they look like they can afford to pay the fine.

You could have disconnected your battery right before inspection. The check engine light will take a while before it returns.
It will still fail because the circuit isn't ready. You may have to drive 20 miles before it hits a ready state. If you have a problem it will code then.

Hi flow cats? Try a spacer on the rear 02 sensor.

I live in the state of Washington. No income tax, no vehicle inspections, just as god intended. Welcome to the club, Texas.

I had a car do this. Turns out it was burning oil(shitty Chrysler). Burnt oil gummed up the O2 sensor. Dumped that car with a quickness.
