Is there still a mandatory quarantine for people coming from Louisiana into Texas starting Friday?

That order is probably going to become permanent.

What are they gonna do? Make you wait at the welcome rest area for two weeks?

Good question.
I’m wondering about people who live in Texas and visit Louisiana and return to Texas. You would think with Mother’s Day weekend and Memorial Day not too far away there’s going to be a lot of traveling.

I saw a post on fb from one of the local news people that said people from La can now come in but there was a list of some other places where they will have to quarantine.

Have you heard of a single instance of them enforcing the quarantine? No? Because they arent

Lastly, Abbott issued Executive Order GA-20 to eliminate the mandatory 14-day quarantine period for individuals traveling from Louisiana. Under GA-20, the mandated 14-day quarantine for travelers from the following areas remains in place: California; Connecticut; New York; New Jersey; Washington; Atlanta, Georgia; Chicago, Illinois; Detroit, Michigan, and Miami, Florida.

The quarantine on Louisiana travelers has been rescinded effective immediately.

I printed out essential worker forms from my office and they let me right through Sunday. The officers really don’t care, sure they don’t want to be there either

Paul, have you been at your place in the Hamptons during this pandemic? The wife and I can’t wait to visit in July!

Why? Commercial traffic doesn’t have to stop, and if you are “essential” then you don’t either.
If you actually stopped and produced “papers” for the authorities, then you are part of the problem.
The whole thing was a psy-ops by Texas to make less people come over the line. They have no authority to stop anyone.
Congrats, you fell for it.

So, if you enter Texas from Louisiana and give them an address that you’re staying at, and it’s in Houston, someone from the HPD goes check to make sure you are there? What do they do if you aren’t there?
ETA: I find that very fricking hard to believe. Your police department does not have the resources to enforce that.
