Never heard of this, but it's a great idea.

quote:

He filled up 400 feet of 30 inch high tubes made of plastic and fabric with water. “I was the crazy guy. Everybody was kinda going by, laughing at me. But today they are really impressed with this AquaDam,” said Wagner. He and his family stayed, waited and watched as the water rose to 27 inches, but never seeped through the barriers. The product cost him money, but he told KHOU 11 News it was well worth his sanity. “$8,300 is to me a small investment on a house that could have two feet of water in it and cost me $150,000 in repairs.” he said.

Some of my parents neighbors on the Red River used them. They had some seepage that they had to keep a sump pump to keep out the seepage, but it worked great otherwise.

Can you stack them?
I'd turn my house into a bunker. build a tunnel under it with custom air tight doors

I guess if you put some posts in the ground to hold them in place and then came up with a way to seal them together, maybe?

Meh, whatever it is, it'll be lower than the water damage he would have had without it.

Regardless he will be reading it from his fully furnished home in his favorite chair.....instead of some hotel room waiting for his walls to dry out so they can have new sheetrock installed..

Get it?

Fairly common, actually.

This is a pic I took in March on the red river just south of Natchitoches.

Wrapped around two houses.

i wonder if he had a leg to stand on if he wanted to bill back his insurance for the 8,600.00 dollars. i mean its reasonable to say he saved them a ton of cash by taking a preventative measure that cost money up front.

I can't recall a policy that gives credits for mitigating hazards, but that would make a lot of sense.
