I've got no problem with things you have issues with, the bible beaters were there long ago. My problem is that when I moved there in 1983, were ALL the laws regarding personal freedoms. You almost had to have a state license to take a crap. It isn't close to gun toting cowboys on the range. Actually, it was bible beaters who kept the state without any bars until around 1970, and black tie events you had to bring a bottle in a brown paper bag to set on the table in the bag. It did have bars with all nude dancers but no alcohol. Is the TABC still like the Gestapo with plain clothes agents roamig bars to find some infraction, which could be someone who had a hard day of physical labor enjoying an ice cold beer and rest his head on the bar for 2 seconds for the bar to lose its license and the person enjoying the beer to be arrested for public drunkeness, or some barmaid forgetting to scratch the TABC label of bottle as it becomes empty?

It has always amazed me how Texas has no real casinos. I’ve always had this conspiracy that the Nevada gaming commission slides the politicians on both sides in Texas some “lobbying” bribe money to keep from having any real competition near them.

Louisiana and the Oklahoma Indian tribes both spend billions lobbying in Texas against gambling

Louisiana is for people that enjoy seeing their washed up classmates growing up and can’t be away from extended family more than a few days

How many crimes occur in schools in La? What’s the murder rate in BR compared to Frisco?

I’ve lived in Texas, not one of the major cities, for the last 3 years after living in Louisiana all my life. I don’t see a world of difference other than it’s easier to spell.

FIFY

From a point of experience and authority…Texas school physical plant rocks. The book’s cover is amplified in TX.

I’m between acts at Nola Jazz Fest so will stop here.

Not all parts of LA kill a future, and not all parts of TX kill a soul.

Just have to navigate to your liking on either side. But rest assured, net/net, LA Nola + sprinkling of parts of TX made right sense for me. And some Intl living en rte.

Texas cuisine is BBQ and BBQ. You would think with as much Gulf coastline they would have lots of seafood but what they do have is prepared it is in Wisconsin. Heat is miserable in summer with humidity as bad as anywhere in US. Arrogance is the state attitude and pride is it's lifestyle. In spite of the aforestated weather, Dallas weather is the worst. I have been stranded in the Dallas airport (DFW) more times in my life that all other cities I have flown through combined. A summer storm moves in drops 5 inches of rain and causes DFW to shut down for hours and maybe the rest of day..
But the property taxes fund schools that are good and proportionate to the amount of taxes in that ISD. And BTW, Texas makes up for high property taxes with state income tax.
Texas is growing in population as reasonable people realize that Calif. . . well, make normal people want to throw up and gouge their eyeballs out when they see all the liberal foolishness. And the homelessness is not only inexcusable it is an abomination to see that many people without shelter.
Now, your hatred of white evangelicals as a professed Catholic has some deep rooted psychological origins that you should really see a therapist to explore how to work that our. And don't forget, if not for the group that you hate we would all the living in the bizarro world of Kamalaville with all its weird progressive habits, intolerance of other views, psycho property and personal attacks and criminal activity that liberals see as normal and not lawbreaking.
Good luck with you quest to resolve the hatred!
P.S. I dont live in Texas!
