And August isn't here yet.
If you work out in it all the time you'd agree that summer in the deep south has been great this year, relatively speaking.

Also, after the first 2 weeks of August the heat doesn't hit the same. Right now through the next 3 weeks is the worst and it tapers off. The angle of the sun has changed by mid August and the humidity doesn't have the same punch as it does right now. We're on the tail end of suckage, but I love summer so I don't complain.

afternoon showers is the reason for it not being as hot also. a few years ago when it was almost 100 every day it didn't rain for pretty much all of july and august

The El Niño La Niña cycles always do this.

Same thing with the drought.

At least we'll have 7 more years of the global warming cult not having anything to talk about in Texas.

They'll come out of hibernation around 2031.

Is getting colder…this year, yeah. But the last few years sucked arse. I’ve enjoyed the break this summer.

frick! I've been replacing fencing for the last 4-5 weekends. I start at 7am and drenched in sweat by 8. Louisiana is plenty hot. And August isn't here yet.

Have to be careful this day and age mentioning the weather because snowflakes will nut the frick up and go on a rant about politics because to idiots on both sides politicians somehow control weather. That said it has been hotter than hell here this summer and humid as hell as well. It is hotter than hell here every summer and humid as hell, does not seem to matter who is in the Whitehouse but you can't convince snowflakes on both sides of the "issue", as if nature is an issue, of that.

I do not work outdoors all of the time but the last 3 years I have worked outdoors 3 days a week almost every week and this summer has not been noticeably different to me than the last 3. Hot as hell and humid as hell. I get started at 6 AM Friday - Sunday and knock off between 12 and 1....and I will be soaking wet and worn out. I doubt if many people can tell the difference between 97 degrees and 92 12 months apart....

If they want their heat back, they can come collect it over at my house.

And just like with the heat wave from a couple years ago, you drive a few hours to the east and it is a different story. We've had 29 days above Normal so far this Summer, and so far July is running almost 2° above Normal. While Louisiana and Texas were roasting a few years ago we had a much below normal Summer.

That’s because of all the giant fans they installed out in west Texas.

This is a friendly reminder that you're still wrong and you don't understand how temperature or thermometers work.

Take care!

What does that have to do with whether it is more or less hot than normal?

I spent a week in DFW and Waco the week of Labor Day 2021. It was 100-105 every day. My guess it will hit 100 multiple times before September is over.
