When when have a $60million high school stadium, you pay your coach well. LOTS of money in Collin county.
Did I read where that stadium got condemned after one season because it was such soddy work?
ETA: Yes, I did.

Worked with Allen hc last year, I think he gets a good bit of money from Nike to go on top of his salary.

The comments are...
Why are people so angry that these coaches are paid well for being good at their job? And Texas ranks pretty well as far as schools go

I'll pay a lawyer, accountant, physician, etc. for being good at his/her job.........a HS football coach is debatable especially when their track record doesn't support solid revenues from said track record.
There are limits to compensation in some fields and this is one that is close to being over the top.
That said, I'm not angry.

People want to hate.
I'll sign the dotted line if that's what I can negotiate.

The more affluential schools in Texas recruit. By recruit they basically go to the lower-middle income schools, find their good Sophomore player's parents, and get someone to offer them a job in the district.
My high school routinely gets its best young players picked off by the Southlake Carroll's, Allens, Aledos, etc.

Three points of contact.
I don't see a problem.

And let's face it, the real losers here are Texas college football teams.
Give me a set of of run down bleachers, some slow rollers in a trailer, hot chocolate, and Louisiana football. That equals a damn strong football team when they reach 18 and go to college (LSU).
STTD Texas, bunch of frickin pansies.

My old high school coach makes roughly $100k a year and he might be the biggest scrub in the entire Houston area

If you are smart with that kind of money, you can retire pretty comfortably as a pillar of your community, having worked a competitive, fun job while influencing the lives of young men. There are obviously disadvantages and a good bit of pressure, but doesn't sound like a bad gig to me. A lot better than most other jobs.
