I just met a new neighbor who played baseball at LSU with Ben McDonald. That offsets the rest of the carpetbaggers.
tons of LSU people in Collin County. My BIL lives 10 minutes away and has two neighbors that went to LSU. One played golf and the other worked in football operations.
I see just as many LSU flags on a Saturday as any other school

There’s a lot to hate about Texas, but chief among the gripes are:
1. The transplants
And
2. The natives

I would actually move back to Texas if my choices were Texas or Florida. frick Florida. Both states suck, though.

Without transplants, Texas would be Indians. It’s all transplants

To be fair, urban and suburban Texas has always sucked.
Spent a good bit of times in the Houston burbs back in the day. Had some friends there, but a lot of the natives were Mallrat types or concrete cowboys who lived in treeless subdivisions. Lots of doucheyness.
Can't imagine what those areas are like now, with all the Calies, yankees, and others. No thanks.
Rural Texans in the areas that are still actually rural tend to be pretty good people in my experience.

Otherwise it’d be just another transient hodge podge place like Florida.
Florida seems to attract the correct transplants that vote to keep Florida red
Texas is going to be Colorado in the next 2 decades. It'll be a shell of its former self

So does every southern and conservative state.

My FIL lives in Austin and it drives him nuts. He says the tech idiots from California made their state unlivable and now they moved to Austin and keep voting for the same shite that ruined where they came from.
Texas has remained suprisingky solid red despite the huge influx from California and other blue states but I'm afraid it's of when and not if it eventually turns purple then blue ala Colorado and Virginia.
The scary part is that we were a Kamala win away from 4 more years of "saving democracy"...i.e. letting countless more illegals from 3rd world countries flood into Texas to turn it blue thus ensuring perpetual one party rule for the rest of our collective lifetimes.
