He also accused Hidalgo of picking “winners and losers” by restricting church gatherings. “It’s ridiculous,” he said. “I come into contact with more people at H-E-B than I do at these small churches.”
I also run into contact with more people at HEB (or any big grocer) than I do at restaurants, the salon, small boutiques and all kinds of small businesses that were forced to close.
Seems like they are still picking winners and losers.
Hypocrites.

This is how it needs to be.
The church can handle the situation appropriately without being forced to at gunpoint.
I mean... Churches don't always have the best track records of handling sensitive situations appropriately...

i take it no one in this thread has been to an H-E-B in the last few weeks?

Not. Only churches but schools and all businesses should be open again. NOW

So what happens when the virus reappears? Is this the new normal now? Every time a virus appears, we shut down the country months at a time?

Idiotic and totally contrary to reality.

Not even remotely true.
All you are doing is extending the eventual spread into September, October, and November, The stay at home serves one purpose only, to eliminate stress on hospitals. That's all!

Shouldn't they be open for service? Of course God has bills too I guess.

Seeking salvation from a deadly pandemic by congregating in large numbers...
Sounds logical to me
