I’d be all for the death penalty but I just don’t trust the legal system to get the right guy. But what’s really frustrating is that in the majority of these capital cases, guilt isn’t even in dispute. The numerous appeals that drag it out are simply to get the criminal life in prison instead of death. Lawyers will argue about cruel and unusual punishment, or how the murderer had a bad childhood, or how the murderer had a low IQ...all a waste of time and money.
