culture is what shitty states/cities use when they don't have anything else of value to bring.

But it's better than Shreveport.

I'd say nicer than Shreveport, but not better.

you can't really compare one suburb in a sea of burbs to a bigger city like Shreveport.

I know the McMansions and strip malls don't wow everyone. But it's clean, low crime, lots of jobs (more coming) and has fantastic public schools.

I'll gladly live in a zero lot line home with no culture to feel safe, and know I can send my future children to public school without worrying about the education they will receive.

If you're talking about raising a family, good school system, very low crime, and an awesome job market, I would challenge anyplace in the south to top Plano, TX.

(it is also very short on urban cowboys/rednecks compared to most TX burbs)

State of Texas has ~ 1.7 million tourist each year. There is one city in LA that has ~ 9 million. People love them some LA culture.

So are Bellaire, Southside, and all the villages of Memorial. I would still say they are part of Houston.

Not everyone can pull off the LA lifestyle. I've lived in both. You don't even need to know how to speak English in TX. Just have to swim across a river and you are official a Texan.
