Actually you are. Because that is not how you reply to someone that you're not trying to be rude to when they are wrong about something. Especially someone who definitely does NOT have strong opinions and has been rather lukewarm about the whole thing, generally speaking.
Especially someone who has never said a word and been nothing but polite and even engaging in the group chat when it is always all about the virus that I'm already surrounded by people talking about.
Especially someone who mailed you a heartfelt birthday card a month ago because everyone forgot your birthday and I didn't want you to go without.

I don't understand why people can't believe this.
Because:
1)the stories are almost identical besides the setting.
Sometimes almost cut and paste identical.
2)the stories is always “someone I knew” as opposed to the actual person. I’m sure attentions seekers will escalate and add that story element next but constant distance to the actual subject is a classical hallmark of an urban legend.
I don’t doubt that someone screwed up somewhere but you could almost track this crap virally spreading on social media over the past 2 months.
And so often it adds a nugget like this:
quote:
It's what happens when you attach bonus money to positive tests
CVS or Quest isn’t getting bonus money for positive tests.

I actually know two couples from different areas in Alabama that this happened to
Wonder if it’s the same folks my wife met at our store? Same story: put their name down, got tired of waiting, get a call several days later saying they were positive.
Met a lab nurse at Grandview Medical. Every patient with COVID has to test until they get two negatives back. Every positive test counts as a new case.

This is kind of what the whole thread is about and asking for. You might believe it is a conspiracy theory, but you are also as dense as a tree.

Right.
AND THEY’RE ALL THE SAME STORY.
Real life would introduce variations to the same end, such as someone getting multiple tests from different places with different results. Or leaving the line and getting the test elsewhere to get a negative result, only for the original place to call about a positive.
Not just “signed up for a test but left after I saw the line” over and over again, all from a third party and never from the person.
What, you think urban legends were a thing up till the 90s and it magically stopped?
Again, in all of the craziness the most that can be expected is someone fricked up somewhere. Could have been a tech accidentally transcribing the wrong data to a sample for instance .
But if it’s systemic as these narratives claims, we would have seen variations.

It's happened in Baton Rouge, my cousin had an appointment to be tested at her local clinic and cancelled and then received a letter for testing positive.
No they did not wait in line they cancelled the day before the appointment due to a kid being sick.

My secretary was talking about this. A friend of hers went to get tested, wait to get tested was 2 hours, so they left after having signed in at the desk. A few days later, she gets a call saying she tested positive without ever taking a test.
In all likelihood, the place was going in order by name, and the person that came in behind her tested positive, and they just got that shite mixed up. Assuming it's even true. I tend to think that place would have to be full of dumbasses for it to be true.

Has anyone in the thread nutted up and given some proof that it happened to them?
At this point there are more stories of people walking away and testing positive than attendees of the LSU Earthquake game.

I will 1st say that I have not 1st hand knowledge of this but have heard it several times from people here in Memphis.
My best friend told me about someone he knows personally who had it happen to her, in the Memphis area. I would believe anything he says.
I do not live in the Memphis, so I don't know 1st hand.

All the typical same posters in here denying that this could possibly be happening. Shocker.
An article will come out shortly providing proof that this is happening and they will find some reason to discredit that as well because it doesn't match their agenda.
Gotta keep the fear train rolling down the track at warp speed.

Cousin was scheduled with St. Elizabeth's and shared the letter they received via text if that counts.

You mean kinda like how we questioned the early antibody studies and it was assumed it was because of an agenda but we’ve since gotten bombarded with contradictory antibody related news so now the common opinion here that the whole thing is useless?

quote:negative, it could possibly happen. A one off here and there but not the SAME exact scenario playing out at every single testing center across the US by a friend of a friend. But not a single credible person has yet to show any proof.
