For current Tesla owners how long does it take to charge at home and how much did your electric bill go up?

If you get in a wreck in that thing you are dead. You need crush capacity in order to take away some of the energy in a car wreck.

Same here and also for the $7000 self driving feature. I figure it’ll be a collectors item at a minimum Iike a Delorean.

Investors are disappointed in the new truck. TSLA is down 4% in pre-market trading.

ETA: TSLA down 6% in early trading.

What sort of maintenance do you have to do other than new tires? Any idea on the life span of these vehicles?

I don't think a truck that looks like that will ever appeal to most current truck drivers. That's a niche market vehicle at best.

Wait wait wait... the Tesla fan boys said this truck would put Ford and GM out of Business and thats what they rolled out?
I don't think anyone on this board said that.

With the NEMA 1450 adapter, I get 30 miles of charge per hour.

I don't see much of a difference but really don't track my electricity bills. It couldn't be more than $20/month.

That being said for me, I just started a new job with free charging, so that's a huge plus and I do 90% of my charging free from work now.

In the original thread on here about the expected truck, they said towing capacity would be 300,000 lbs. We all thought that must have been a typo. They also had about 6 different renderings. One of them actually looked like a truck. Is that one dead?
Those were all fan renderings, we've never seen any drawing from Tesla.

They did a great job of keeping the look of the truck top secret...unfortunately.

Tesla's other vehicles rank among the safest, why do you think this truck won't? You can't tell how something is going to crush just by looking at it. The lack of a huge engine under the hood makes it easier to design crumple zones.

The only maintenance is tires and windshield wiper fluid...that's it.

Technically, you have brakes as well obviously. But I believe with the regen braking, you don't need to change your brakes until you get to something like 160k miles if I recall. I'll never hit that #, so I don't factor it into routine maintenance.

For the most part, they'll last as long as you need them to. Not sure how a battery would hold up if you kept it 20+ years, probably not goo. But practically speaking, you'll be fine for 10-15 years easily.

Completely agree, which is huge because Elon is banking on this truck disrupting the market, and I just don't see that happening.

This is so badass i'm gonna buy 2. One of them i'm gonna put some hydrolics on the front and jack it up and put some spinners on it. The other i'm gonna jack it up and put some oversized mud tires. Weeeeeedoggie can't wait for this.

I think something that looked more like a futuristic, regular pickup would sell much better. Something like this I guess.

And the $70k version having 500+ mile range and 0-60 in 2.9 is insane. Faster than a Porshe and would easily outpull any comparable pickup. This truck could have been a serious contender if it just looked normal. The way that truck looks...no chance.

They will sell the hell out of those if the numbers stay the same and they tame the design.
