I think there is typically a fireworks show there on Bastille Day.

ETA: Not sure of the exact proximity based on the linked video, but that's the only reason I can think of.

I think they are rigged on the tower.

Apparently it's pretty common. Remember the video of the burning skyscraper in some wealthy Middle East country posted on here some time ago? That was started by fireworks on the building. Pretty sure the have some on the Burj Khalifa too

Yeah it's probably some of the other shite around it on fire. I would imagine it would take a pretty long burn to cause damage to the structure
