well maybe I was on a bit of a tangent because I wasn't referring to this particular terrorsit attack, in Britain. More of the US role in this as a whole.

I agree. But ISIS is more of a threat than Al Queda or even The Taliban IMO, and we undoubtedly created them.

You're completely correct but none of this refutes my first post in this thread: there are some people posting here that want all of these attacks to be done by Muslims because it reaffirms their world view.

not to mention it's a topic discussed ad nauseam. I'd like to think most agree that the US created ISIS.

Created is a strong word

"contributed to the situation which enabled ISIS to rise" is closer to the truth and doesn't lend itself to putting 100% of the blame on the United States for a Muslim terror uprising (which would be absurd).

Well Hillary and Obama armed them so you are right on that point.

Who is we? No one created ISIS but the ISIS founders themselves. They have free will. They can live a normal life. They chose not to. They chose to follow a life of Islamic fundamentalism. No one forces them to do what they do.

Just because I have liberal values doesn't mean I am going to take up for every action in Obama's presidency. I agree with you.

I'm going to need you to identify the straw man argument I am putting forth that you can't possibly argue against.

Debatable, but probably true

We didn't creat them obviously, I'm sure you mean enabled or underestimated them. That is true for the US and other world powers that did nothing.

Pretty simple minded IMO but whatever. Created may be the wrong word, but we contributed heavily to it. You're removing all blame from the US, which is asinine.

What people don't get is ideologues don't just want to kill you. They want to kill everybody like you. Much stronger conviction.

Reasonable people don't want these attacks to happen, and you're right there may be some sort of "satisfaction" (for lack of a better word) that this attack was done by a Muslim (do we even know this for sure yet?) but that is in a sense both expected and helpful considering we are living in a world where politicians and leaders are afraid to face the problems which worry a lot of people. Seeing these types of attacks is awful but maybe this will shake politicians away from the PC on steroids mindset which is doing nothing to protect the public.

It is simple. They're a violent caliphate fighting for total world domination. It doesn't matter what the situation was at the time of the foundation. They're human beings just as you and I and should adhere to basic standards of decency. I have no sympathy for anyone that takes a part in this and I don't excuse their actions in any way.

I meant what Bosceaux pointed out about arming them, droning innocent people, etc. all played a major role in the formation of ISIS. And obviously pulling out of the Middle East for political reasons and ignoring the vacuum created.

So yea, created is the wrong word. But I think we agree with each other.

The Muslims are doing just fine reaffirming facts not just someone's world view.

Common ground. I wasn't a fan of W's interventionist policies either.

I don't know why you are implying I sympathize with ISIS. That is fricking idiotic. Read my posts. This is common knowledge. Get off your soap box. We all know members of isis choose to join Isis and are people. But you're choosing to be ignorant to facts at this point.
