France disagrees.

And Germany (thats the Kaiser).

And Spain (thats Franco).

And England (thats Oliver Cromwell).

And Russia (thats Stalin)...

I am sure I could keep going but you get the idea.

How much state money can we take away from New Orleans for their tricentennial bullshite. They probably got a lot more than $250,000 if you tracked it all down in every corner of the budget, but it's also probably already been pocketed by every two-bit political machine in the city.

I wouldn’t offer.

Arkansas would probably try to give you West Memphis instead.

frick the Tennessee State legislature.

They're about two votes away from removing evolution in HS textbooks and creating a designated day for white people.

Really?"Erasing history"? The only place the history of the confederacy belongs is in the history books. I know most of you confederate statue supporting baws aren't familiar with what those are, but you should look into them, they're used for reading and providing knowledge. Statues are idolatry and for heroes...undeserving of the confederacy which was a treasonous uprising against the United States of America by unethical individuals unwilling to understand that the enslavement of any human being is a despicable act. And I am a direct descendant of Alexander Stephens - Vice President of the confederacy.

You must be surprised then to learn that slavery was still legal in non reconstruction states after the end of the civil war... in the US.

Huh? Of course it continued after the surrender of those treasonous criminals. But it became the rule of the land and the phasing out of the practice began. There is a reason they called it the "reconstruction", because the government of the confederate states needed rebuilding. The legality of it ended after the 13th amendment was fully ratified which was less than a year later. Do you assume people stop committing crimes just because a law was passed? Sheesh

I was referring to states where slavery was legal DURING and AFTER the civil war.

Might want to open of those books you mentioned.

Let me give you a hint- when was slavery abolished in the traiterous state of Delaware?

What is your point? You are talking about the border states like Maryland and Missouri that were too big of pussies to actually secede from the union. They were exempt from the emancipation proclamation until the war was over. Robert E Lee took a knee and surrendered to Grant on 4/12/1865 and the 13th Amendment was ratified on 12/6/1865 making slavery illegal anywhere in the U.S. So about 8 months of legal slavery continued in that time period...so what? Are you making some sort of pro-slavery argument?

You were going off on some rant about how the evil traiterous slave states deserved to be fought because of slavery.

I just wanted to remind you slavery was still legal in the north for the duration of the war and then some.
