You do realize without some of these white people in the 1800s, you might could be a slave today right? Someone had to change the flow of society and slaves didn't really have much power to do it themselves.

Sounds like Nashville these days...
This is unfortunately all over Tennessee these days. The snow birds are retiring all over East Tennessee. Especially around Dandridge/Sevierville.
I stay in a lot of hotels up that way for work and run into them at breakfast in the hotel when they are down here house shopping. I hear them talking about how nice things were up north and how they need to change things here. It's like why in the f*** did you move down here then...

By this logic the Andrew Jackson statue in Jackson Square needs to come down.
There's a legitimate point there. But he was President of the United States, and as such deserves different consideration than a treasonous general best known for founding a white supremacist organization.

Do you take your wife to Germany just to see her get fricked by hajjis? I hope you at least get paid to be such a brainlet.

Nah, that's not what I was aiming for. I will take your silence on my question as a “yes" though.

Pot meet kettle. Yes a great deal of the southern "cause" was about slavery which was clearly terrible. But if you take down stuff that offends you open a door for future changes you may not like.

Understandable, it's difficult to aim for something you're not even capable of

Honestly, besides the good-hearted abolitionist. Frick all white people ever in the 1800s. That may be racist to say, but I don't care. I'm sure there were a lot of great people who did some pretty cool things. That's fine and all. As for me, if I lived during that time I would be a slave my entire life no matter, and there would dang near be nothing I could ever do about it. Because of that reason right there, I will never support the confederate flag, or any statue memorializing people from that time period. If you would like to do so, go right ahead. I will not stop you. But I do not and I refuse to honor people from that time period.
This may be the dumbest person to ever post here. Quite an accomplishment
