quote:
A Tennessee grandmother was arrested on Saturday after video showed her transporting her grandchildren in pet kennels in her truck’s trunk as temperatures reached nearly 100 degrees
quote:
Leimome Cheeks allegedly admitted to putting her grandchildren, ages 7 and 8, inside the pet kennels because “there was no room” in her white Ford Explorer, FOX13 Memphis reported. The 62-year-old was caught in the act when video posted on social media showed Cheeks opening the kennels’ gates as the children climbed out of the cramped space.
quote:
“When I saw her [Cheeks] face on Facebook, I was like wait a minute that looks like my neighbor across the street,” Cheeks’ neighbor Camillia Cowan told FOX13.
quote:
The children were in the kennels when temperatures reached 95 degrees on Saturday. Police said the trunk of the vehicle was extremely hot and there was no air conditioning to help circulate and cool the air
quote:
She allegedly told police that she would check on the children periodically and “later removed them from the kennel and put them in the rear seats of her vehicle,”
quote:
Cowan said Cheeks might have not known what she was doing was wrong.
quote:
“I don’t think she knew because she loves her grandkids,” Cowan said. “They’re always outside playing with the dogs and stuff.”

The Ford Explorer is an SUV. No trunk.

Never mind. It’s an suv. Not as bad as the shitty report made it sound. But dog kennels? Lol

The frick? Just because there aren't vents in the very back doesn't mean there is no air conditioning.
Not that it's okay to put the kids in dog kennels in the back of an SUV, but this is some really terrible reporting.

I have a 7 an 8 yr old.
They aren’t getting inside any fricking dog kennel..especially by orders of that old hag.

I threaten to put my kids in the dog kennel all the time. Never would but the threat seems to stop them from being little shits for a little while.

I make mine hang on from the trailer hitch cargo carrier. Tell them it’s like a roller coaster.
They love it.

I take it one step further and threaten to put the dog's shock collar on them. I even threaten my wife with that as well.

Reporters suck. Big deal. No seatbelts may be an issue if they were going out of the subdivision, but it isn't as heinous as the headline makes it out to be. My kids were always playing in our dogs kennel.

truck = no trunk, story is bogus
ford explorer suv = still is not a trunk or enclosed compartment so still story is bogus
kids put in pet kennel = this is most likely the only part of the story that is true. and most likely the kids did it willingly and enjoyed it as kids often love to do weird strange things as a game just for the shock value to others to see them react
