This story warm my heart and gives me a small bit of hope for our future. I still think we're hell bent for Idiocracy but this is at least a small win for the home team.

I like the idea, but it leads to some tricky situations. Like, what about the elderly/infertile? If a doctor can confirm that they can't have children, do you automatically give them the 30 days credit?

If they're nonviolent offenders, if incentivize it even more. 6 months seems reasonable.

This. Nonviolent first offenders, or even habitual offenders of possession charges, should get a free charge, not just thirty days.

Tennessee leading the way again.

They should offer cash to inner city youth once they've dropped out of school.

It's interesting that they're offering a non-permanent birth control to women (simply remove the nexplanon implant just under the skin) and a permanent sterilization to men.

Good. Do you really want them reproducing?

Probably, but I think the reduced sentence part is what could be attacked by the ACLU.

Until the ACLU can come up with a better idea to curb the endless cycle of incarceration many felons are in, frick 'em.

A vasectomy can be reversed it just isn't easy. But there really isn't any other viable birth control option for men yet. I do think 30 days is a bit light for undergoing what is otherwise a permanent surgical procedure on your balls.

So, I need to go commit a 30 day or less crime in White County, TN to get myself a free ball snipping?

Hell, I'm getting my bail bondsman lined up right now. I'm gonna save me some money boys.

Racist and classist in so many forms.

How about they stop jailing people over traffic tickets, stop setting crazy high bails for petty crimes, and stop building jails that disproportionally target the poor?

If you go to jail for a petty crime, which we know they jail people for, that means you can't have kids?

Man, the demographic shift really scares em huh. When you don't reproduce as much or as fast as they do, the only way to beat em is to make there are less of them
Huh
