This was like me!

Got an engineering degree in the end though. 6 years of undergrad with 20+ credits going in from high school testing and several summer classes.

That was a smart move to step out into the real world for a few years. It'll make you a stronger student.

known several people like this, its weird seeing them in college. I don't know how they afford to do it either, I knew one who was in a fraternity the whole time.

Dont feel bad. I graduated in 5 years, but I went back to school (2nd university) immediately after cause I did not like my first degree.

A day before the 1993 Iron Bowl and I am at a party. A guy who I know named Alan who I thought was a fifth year senior starts talking about the 1989 Iron Bowl and how he attended that game during his junior year.

I was in graduate school and attended the 1995 Iron Bowl and there was Alan. He told me he had three semesters left.

I partied my arse off my first year, and did just enough to stay. Then took a year of bs classes to make up for that year to get my gpa up to get my tops back. So I ended up at 5 1/2 by the time I finished. One entire semester was student teaching. Had a great time wouldn't change a thing.

My grandfather told me yesterday that he feels that military service should be compulsory (2 years immediately after high school). Kids would be starting college at 20 rather than 18 and have real world experience under their belt.

College was so much better than real life. As long as they are not milking money off someone else, I respect people who find a way to perpetually stay young. Unfortunately most of these types are milking money off someone who loves them too much.

I graduated in four years and it was the biggest mistake of my entire life. And I love my job.

6.5 years for me. Graduated with 3 minors. Wish I would have stayed longer. College was a blast.

ETA: 165 credits

I had a friend who went to AU with me. Intelligent guy, but a stoner and lazy as frick. He was a business major and had failed so many classes that he had to declare academic bankruptcy after 3-4 years. Got a clean start and started failing classes, playing the drop/add game, taking BS electives and barely passing them, etc. After about 2 years, he is right where he was before... And insurmountable hole.

Declares academic bankruptcy a 2nd time and moves home to Mobile to go to Spring Hill College. Graduates in journalism.

From start to finish, probably 15 years and $100k for a journalism degree from SHC.

Took 6 years for my ChemE degree - three schools: Air Force Academy, LSU, Auburn and finally LSU.

My cousin was 32 by the time he was out of college though he got a masters in chemistry. Unemployed and being a stay at home boyfriend because he can't find a job with a masters in chemistry.

Recharge from WHAT? The grueling schedule that took your lazy arse 6 years to do what most morons can do in 4? and I would hardly call Ville Platte to Grand Isle "traveling'..

Geez, the future is bleak. How old are you now, 26?
