we don't associate with them unless they pop in on my grandma when we are visiting
During the holidays, are they the type who are always the first to show up and the last to leave? I have some not close related relatives like this. They will pop in, when everyone is at a certain relatives house, without really being invited. They live down the road from this person, but evidently they pop in as soon as the first person shows up and they end up being the last to leave..with leftovers.

I have one uncle (married to my mother's sister) who is a general sleazeball on con artist. He always tried to screw people out of their money and was a tax cheat. Another uncle killed his first wife in a drunken rage back in the early70's. He did some prison time and was a lifelong alcoholic. I felt sorry for him more than anything because he came back from Vietnam all screwed up.

Chef Leppard trumps all these.
Eta: WTF happened to him? I used to love his stories about his "family"

I have one nonk that is living proof your dick can't fall off. Picked up one of them after putting $5 gas in her car. Another was in prison and sending him nasty photos then shacked up with him when she got out. Went by the name Enigma

Yeah, that's a bad situation. Its hard to fault someone who came back from Vietnam. The first boss I ever had was a Vietnam vet, he would always tell me how lucky he felt.. The only problems he really had was sleeping. He said every since he returned he can't sleep more than 3 or 4 hrs a night, but he would tell me different stories about people he knew before they went to Vietnam and the state they returned in.
I was born years after the Vietnam war was over, but think people have forgotten or don't realize exactly just what those guys went through.

Retired college "professor" who thinks he's the smartest and greatest thing to walk this earth.
My uncle is like this. To make it worse, he married someone who is exactly the same.
Neither of them spent a day out of the university bubble. BA to Masters to PhD to teaching to retirement. They think they're God's gift to the world. Ironically they are both vocally staunch atheists, because of course they are.

I had an uncle similar to this. He is dead now.. He didn't really try to con people out of their money, but he was kind of a sleazeball. One of those guys who could "charm" other people if he caught them off guard. Always seemed to talk his way out of certain situations. He had several jobs and they were always jobs that everyone wondered "how the hell did he get that job?".
