I strongly recommend the book "House of Rain". about the desert, water, the Anasazi, and a man's walk through deserts looking for water and what life it gives.

Nobody goes there anymore. It’s too crowded.

It's the next California. Unbelievably beautiful nature, unbelievably leftist politicians that would make Che Guevara blush.

Well, when the people that made California unaffordable, woke, and stupid all flee from there to Colorado...that might be a sign that if you want to be left alone and not taxed to the neck for Tranny equality studies, Colorado might not be the best place.

Also, the hunting regulations in Colorado are at the height of absurdity. Politicians are strict on hunting of predatory animals such as bears/wolves because they look like house pets, and will end up leading to game animal decline.

If you lived in Denver... During ski season... Think "hurricane evacuation traffic" starting on Friday but heading to the slopes

Wrong. The state turned to the left way before pot. And the reason being can be blamed on the californication that began in the early 90s. The main population centers were and are a bastion of liberals and progs and account for the majority of blue voters. Been here since 87 and still glad I don’t completely hate it yet.

colorado is a much better state to live in than louisiana. many will downvote this post but that's because they currently live IN louisiana.

Maybe it's because politics can, or will, affect one's overall quality of life.

Mainly the cost, or if you live in Denver, the crime.

Anywhere progressives live will be expensive, yet full of homeless people.

"Quality of life" is highly subjective. Seeing bums every day would turn me off.

I'm fairly moderate(voted Trump three times, but the gays and weed don't bother me) and love Colorado. Worst thing I can say is real estate is very expensive and it is increasing hostile towards hunters if you are into that sort of thing.

Pretty scenery will eventually lose out to over burdensome government. This is a fact. We've got projects in Hawaii, and if the job isn't going great, the people aren't happy. Regardless of the extracurriculars after work.

That's why California has the highest numbers of migration OUT OF THE STATE. They aren't bleeding millions of residents a year because liberal government is so awesome.

Cold weather is great to visit but not to live in

I hate cold weather...but Denver really was not that bad. It is dry cold which is much more pleasant. 30 degrees and sunny, all you need is jeans and a light jacket. It does snow but it doesnt stick around long. Weather is great in Denver really.

I do feel like I got in at the end of one of the best times to live in Denver 2015-2017. Id imagine post covid, that place sucks.

In Denver, bums are on every corner begging. It does get annoying. Its basically full time work for them. You see the same ones every day. One time I saw a Mexican that begged every single day off of Sheridan and Sloan Lake. Another Mexican drove by in a truck and screamed "get a job" at him. The beggar then screamed back "this is my job"

I laughed
