It's the birthplace of the most US Presidents.

Another interesting fact that I learned recently, there's an tiny island community in the Chesapeake Bay, Tangier Island, where many of the residents have a dialect that still sounds like a 17th-century english accent.

SC Golf Club was the first in the US whereas Foxburg is the longest continuously operating golf club in the US.

I was going to say good for them because of the massive boondoggle they are, but looks like it was 1976, during the time they probably still used previously existing structures.

Louisiana is the only state that doesn’t have counties, it has parishes.
