There is just no litter in Michigan from the Saginaw bay north. Clean and beautiful with very little crime. I grew up in midland and from the time I was born in 1960 till just late last year, there was not even one shooting in that city.

The extreme southern part of Florida is tropical and has a large, established population of giant asiatic flesh eating snakes.

You could probably say that about most states once you zero out the big cities. Maybe not Louisiana.

Deep rig-you are right-I girdled it and my info(gleaned from college days 50 years ago) is out of date
Come to NE Arkansas and I can provide proof on the rice and meth chemists, however.

I feel ya. I thought Georgia was #1 because it used to be, so I googled it to flex on you, only to find out Iowa has taken over that spot now.

Not my home state but Arkansas use to be ocean front property. All that seawater and organic material is now trapped underground in the Smackover formation. After billions of years that seawater is now extremely concentrated and rich in bromine (among other things) which results in that area being the second largest producer of bromine in the world.

What is bromine? One of the main uses is as a fire retardant. All those green circuit boards in damn near everything, brominated fire retardant. Thanks Great Lake Chemicals for that summer job (rip)

I happened upon a documentary about Louisiana salt mines. I had no idea they were the leading producer of salt in the nation.
