I'm getting a lot of downvotes for my problem parents comment, but no one is refuting it. Either today just isn't my day or you people suck at raising kids.

I left BR because I didn't like a lot of things about it, but Livingston was going in the opposite direction of what I was looking for, so take that for what its worth.

i know but you're implying they did anything wrong. no matter how good of a parent you are, your kid is going to make a dumb decision. This one happened to be catastrophic.

You can't sit there and tell me the parent(s) had nothing to do with the teen running away

yes I can. In the mind of a 15 year old think about some of the things that could make you not want to be home. Plus, girls that young are easily manipulated. It very well might have been some online perv who convinced her to do it.

Parents can't solve everything, and parents can't watch their kid all the time.
Teenagers want to grow up fast. They want to be treated like adults and act like adults. But they can't. They aren't mature enough. They think of only today, rarely tomorrow.
I dropped my wife and kids off at the fair last week. My stepdaughter is 13. She already acts grown up, and it scares me. Anyways, I waited for them where I dropped them off. The fair was in a bad part of town. I see my wife holding all the stuff they won and a male following them. I pick up my little boy and the guy turned around. Typical homeless junkie. My wife told me he kept asking her for money. My stepdaughter never even noticed him. It's those kinds of things. They don't know trouble when they see it. It can put them in a lot of danger.

Like abuse? It's possible, but not every runaway was abused. Some kids just think they know better, like their parents worry for no reason or only want to control them.
