A Michigan woman is accused of targeting two teens in a year-long catfishing scheme where she harassed them on social media.
Kendra Licari,42, was charged earlier this week with two counts of stalking a minor, two counts of using a computer to commit the crime and another count of obstruction of justice. According to FBI investigators, Licari targeted her daughter and her daughter’s boyfriend since last December and attempted to cover up her act by filing a complaint with the Beal City Schools‘ administration. Around that time, Licari worked as a girls‘ basketball coach at the school and at the end of the season, she was asked not to return due to coaching changes.
School district officials said the cyber bullying occurred off of school grounds and the school’s devices were not used. They decided to involve local authorities to look into the case as the harassment started in early 2021. Isabella County prosecutor David Barberi said the investigation was intense since Licari allegedly used slang to make it seem like the catfish was the same age as her daughter.
After authorities were stuck with no other options, they turned to FBI’s computer crime deviation in April and discovered a few months later that they believed Licari was involved in the cyberbullying. Superintendent William Chilman said in a statement that the FBI officials were able to track down the IP addresses used to send the messages to her daughter.
After Licari was confronted about the cyber harassment, she broke down and made a full confession. She was released often her arraignment and She faces multiple charges which included using a computer to commit the crime, stalking a minor, and obstruction of justice. Each count is a five-year felony.
However, it is unclear why Licari committed the crime and she is expected to appear in court on December 29.

I've heard there's an Asian proverb something to the effect of that your face is given to you by your parents for the first twenty years. After that, you yourself make it.
This would seem to be true in this case:
