10min. And yeah, kid did the right thing. Just saying you can't stop be a shite head for 10 min and expect to suddenly not be treated like a shite head. There are no "shite head timeouts".
If a teacher sat and watched my child suffocate for 10 minutes and did nothing I would be inclined to make sure I watched the teacher suffocate for 10 minutes.
Sometimes I feel like teachers and school administrators live in their own fantasy land where they feel like reality doesn't apply to them.

Teacher sounds like a functional idiot.

Get your rant right at least. No where in the article did it say anything about anyone not breathing. Just an asthma attack, and collapsed. I still applaud the kid. Public schools are shite, and yet it's only because they are over regulated.

Don't get me wrong. I fully support what the kid did and the teacher needs his/her arse kicked, just saying that he may be suspended more for past transgressions and bad behavior then for the present situation

Especially with it being an alternative school I feel like the kids hear enough of ‘they're bad’ or their behavior, or you know, and for them to not be rewarded for really something that is brave, ya know, he is a hero to me,” said Cortes.
I can get behind this.

The kid was at an alternative school. He had already been kicked out of his regular school.

Teachers aren't normally allowed to prevent one of their students from receiving medical attention during a medical emergency.

According to the disciplinary form the teacher wrote, he said "f—k that we ain’t got time to wait for no email from the nurse"
....did not say "F* you". BIG difference.

It's so unfortunate that in today's society standard procedure/protocol/zero tolerance trumps common sense. One of the decisions that I regret most in my life was allowing my daughter to go to a public high school (in Livingston Parish). She was the victim of their ridiculous policies and it still affects her today. As a result, I sent my son to Catholic High. There is no comparison. Even the "good" public schools don't come close.
This kid may have his troubles but he did the right thing. That teacher is an idiot.

Apparently you don't know what happens during an asthma attack.

Admins should require posters who claim a thread german to post the link to so called original thread.
