Parents should have fixed it. School is playing with technicalities and BS. The kid is being penalized for doing nothing wrong.

If the kids has a good group of friends and is someone that can handle some teasing he should just play a season on the girls team and help them win a championship.

Goddamn his parents are stupid. Fix birth certificate instead of laughing. Jokes on them now and they screwed their kid over.

I still don’t understand how this wasn’t caught or corrected 14 years ago. At hospital We had to sign off on verifying what was being submitted for birth certificates.

On the other side of life, the form the hospital filled out when my mother passed was dated for the following day. There were no less than four signatures from doctors and nurses plus my own.

I didn't catch it until the newspaper obit was printed. The funeral home wrote the obit for me. They said they had to go by the date on that form even though they knew they picked the body up the day before.

I didn't know any consequences of doing nothing other than the date would also be wrong on the death certificate. I just knew that if it needed to be corrected later, it would probably involve an attorney. Before the funeral home submitted that form to receive the death certificate, I had to track down all signers on that form to sign off on the corrected date.

Because of the correction, it took an extra month for the completed death certificate to be returned.

The parents had 14 years to fix situation correctly (going by their story). At least by 5 or 6 it was effecting the accuracy of the kid’s enrollment into schools. They likely had to have used it before that.

But at least the parents checked to make sure the time of birth was correct…

Admitting they reviewed the BC but then saying they only reviewed date and time listed for birth is BS.

There is something off about their actions for 14 years and for their “fix” to tryout situation. Even if it is a clerical error I still feel like they took the political shortcut of using the state’s trans option which apparently doesn’t change original birth sex (nor should it) and hoped a “board certified” doctor’s note to the school would bridge the gap which is either lazy or part of the parents being misleading in the situation about it being only a clerical error at birth like the kid had a güevedoces or “testes at twelve” situation.
