Here's one that needs to spread as well - Mississippi girl gets full ride to Harvard.
LINK
Her quote from the article:
"If the elevator to success doesn't work, you have to take the stairs," Hall said. "There's no easy way to anything. Sometimes, you have to do extra to get to where you are trying to get in life."

Straight As in Mississippi plus a fricking 32 gets a full ride to Harvard?

Wish they listed what the scholarships were and the criteria of them.

Wait, you have a problem with a 32? That’s a damn good score.

Why do we have AA colleges but not white only colleges? Serious question...
We do! It’s called Ivy League.

To get a full ride to Harvard? That's a low score.

She got a Bill Gates Scholarship.

That is truly awesome. And she's going into biology, which is not useless.
Heck, she could get hired tight now as an accountant or general money-saving consultant for any business with those savings.

Well, maybe her momma and the school's faculty could

I don't doubt that. It's always said that Harvard and the ivy leagues aren't stupid hard if you're smart, just hard to get into.
But I had the same grades and one less point on the ACT and didn't even get in, much less get a full ride. And I wasn't at a shitty public school in the 49th state in the country in education.

I applied to three. Lsu, Loyola and Fordham.
My application list was similar, LSU, Spring Hill College, and La Tech, additionally had an appointment to USMA West Point. I actually attended three of the previous mentioned.

I didn’t get into Harvard, didn’t apply, not that it would have mattered....
But I was under the impression that scholarships to Harvard were 100% based on need and not on academic prowess. Basically I think if your family makes under 150k combined you get a full ride.

Whitey with just a 4.0 ain't getting into 113 colleges though.
I'm white and had less than a 4.0 and could have been admitted to 500 colleges, if I wanted to take the time to apply to them.
There are over 2,000 colleges and universities in the United States. A lot of them are light on standards.

Funny how she's a 4.0 student at a very good high school, but they didn't list her ACT/SAT score...

For a minute I entertained the idea of responding to these post, but then I realized it would be pointless as it is pretty clear you are trolling.

My daughter wanted to go to an expensive private college in the Ivy League cost range. As we already had state prepaid for her college I bought her a book of available grants, scholarships and the like, when she was a junior in hs. Told her she could go anywhere she wanted but she had to find out how to make up the difference. She applied to everything in that book that she was eligible for, got jobs with the university that paid her money as well as tuition, took out a couple of low interest loans. She graduated on time from that a school that cost over $200k to attend with under $17k in debt, which I gladly picked up as a graduation present. I tell her all of the time that was as valuable as any course she took in college, as it has transferred over in the way she handles her finances. :
