the policy places no timeline on when employees must reimburse. “Technically, she’s not in violation of anything, is she?” Joseph said.

They should go back and check records from the Ghana flights a few years back.

Rosanna Barnes, owner of the city’s Metairie-based travel agency, Going Places Inc., said she books the accommodations that Cantrell asks for. “I give what’s requested,” Barnes said. “I don’t decide how the mayor travels.”
Precisely what we all assumed.

I am 99.9% positive that she did in fact violate the rule. If you are paying that stuff through a credit card then the violation would have happened the second she had the city pay for those expenses. It is one thing to put a personal expense on your credit card, not recommended, but sometimes accidents happen. However, to then submit your expenses for the city to pay it. That is illegal.

It's shameful that people try to mess with strong queens.

JP Morrell is on WWL Radio right now.
Said there was a loophole in the policy and it did apply to elected officials. When the council found out about this two weeks ago they closed the loophole.
So today the policy applies to the mayor but it has only applied for two weeks.
He said the policy DIDNT apply to elected officials only employees and the Mayor is not and employee. He said they changed the policy 2 weeks to include all employees AND elected officials.
