Even as they prepare to pay $1.1 million in restitution for illegally transferring money from the city’s public library charity to their jazz orchestra, musicians Irvin Mayfield and Ronald Markham are getting support from top local officials.
Mayor LaToya Cantrell, whose administration runs the library system, and Sheriff Marlin Gusman, the top elected law enforcement official in the city, both stood in front of a crowd at the Magnolia Mansion during a sold-out Mayfield performance Saturday and extolled the Grammy winner. ...
The hotel was raided by FBI agents Wednesday, who seized artwork and documents. Zeton said he didn’t know why the agents had a search warrant but told WWL-TV it had nothing to do with Mayfield.

And not a single person is going to run against the slimy cocksucking piece of shite. Her reign of terror will continue unopposed. The for sale sign went up in the yard Monday and we should've done it years ago. We've already received 6 offers for asking price and one is supposedly coming in over asking today. We will be the frick out of this place as soon as we can.

It isn't that. Its that their voting base doesn't mind it at all.
I work with her voting base quite a lot. I have had SEVERAL tell me that they approve of her and others "getting theirs". Legality is irrelevant to them.

Oh, 100%.
They do this with every entity they run. It's a cultural aspect that they all support until they see someone getting more of theirs than they do, then the wheels fall off and they start going after each other. There's a reason governments and municipalities take a nose dive once they become the majority of the controlling stake.

Unfortunately it appears she is going to run unopposed. She has democrats backing her nationally, especially after her Covid performance. I’m assuming that is scaring away anyone who was considering running against her.
