It isn't easy work but she makes over 50k a year and has a ton of time off. I try to get her to have a positive outlook at it. Yeah it is stressful but she doesn't have layoffs hanging over her head at least.

I just closed my GoFundMe for my classroom supplies. We’re going to have so much Kleenex!

I just wish people would realize that while you're at home enjoying time with their families, we're grading pop quizzes

Thank God I only have six years of the ever increasing peripherals that go with this job now. I had to go to a PBIS planning meeting today. About halfway through the meeting a district supervisor comes in to observe (you can’t take a piss anymore without being observed). Immediately after sitting down she tells our principal that the signs in our hall have to come down. Principal asks which signs specifically and why. Supervisor says all of the signs with hallway rules on them, they contain negative language.

One of the rules states “No running in the halls”. Can’t be negatively impacting these young minds with such horrible, abrasive language. frick that horseshite.

I'm usually trying to fix directional drilling issues in my off time. Comes with the territory. Company also provides unlimited Kleenex.

Just barely.

I was kinda disappointed I only got two trips to the beach in this summer. Usually go for three. The extra few lake visits made up for it.

I plan on starting to set my alarm clock next week a little at a time. Don't want to break in my early wake up too harshly. Probably do a 9am on Sunday and set it back each day by 15 minutes or so.

Hate that I only binged three TV series this summer. Might have to give the kids some busy work in early September so I can stay up late and finish them then. That'll make me kinda tired during the day though, so I can't be expected to teach too much. Need my me time!

Female teachers are extremely rejuvenated knowing they will have 14 year old boys to prey on

It’s like somebody a few years ago got the handle perpetually stuck on “Let’s get as stupid as possible” when it comes to the public school system.

I’m about to start my 7th year teaching. I never understood why so many teachers bitch and moan about their jobs. Instead of socializing and being lazy during your 1-2 planning periods each day, if you maximize every minute of them by making copies, grading, and getting lessons ready, you will have very little to no work to bring home each night. I get to my classroom about 6:30am every morning, which is about an hour before my first class starts. I do this to give myself more time to get shite done so when I leave at 2:45, I almost never have anything else to do. Granted, I’m lucky to be at a fantastic high school with great administration so I know that helps a lot.

Just making a point that most jobs extend past 8 hours. So I get tired of hearing about teacher having to grade quizzes, which takes zero talent

Apparently, you've never witnessed a copy room... It can take an hour or longer to make copies as you have to stop every 10 minutes to fix the jam in the machine.
