What happened to that guy in Plaquemine? I hear that's getting swept under the rug

She's not going to regret marrying an old guy with no money at the age of 18 at all.

That's gonna be an awkward first day of school for both of them

Getting married after the fact shouldn't change anything.

Well he's indicted so it doesn't look like he beat any charges.

Probably.

Other than the fact that husbands and wives have the right to refuse to testify against each other.

When you are 37 I'm sure that changes things

plus he teaches math so I'm sure he's bad at talking to the ladies

I think in Louisiana there is a law that you can't have a relationship with a students you taught until they're 20. I saw it once but haven't tried looking it up again.
I'd think that's a law to prevent something like this from happening. Plus it gives a time period for the teacher-in-authority postion to wear off.

Charges will be dropped. Gulf Shores is really Picayune, MS with a slightly better beach than Biloxi.

Yeah a girl I graduated just married a guy that taught her back in HS. Blindsided everyone because they kept it under wraps until she was 20-21 and then got married like right afterwards
It's really weird seeing it in person vs just reading about it

Did he find a loophole?
My understanding is no. Husband/wife can't be forced to testify against each other in regard to information shared while they were married. However, since the events occurred while they were not married, they are not protected by this. Also doesn't change the fact that she was underage when it happened and a student.
ETA: Obviously not a lawyer.
