This. I'm sure rent is not cheap in SD.

And it's not like this person is paying no taxes. They at least pay property taxes.

Ratting for the Gov't is no way to go through life.

I hope I never have a daughter. I can’t imagine what it must feel like for you knowing she was getting drunk with her landlord and discussing rent “payments”

Wait, I am confused. Are you telling me that people who only accept cash for goods and services do not report 100% of this income on their tax returns? I am livid!

Curious if there is any repercussions for this or a way to turn him in?

Would you prefer your daughter work out... other arrangements for her rent?

Also... what kind of a-hole looks for ways to turn other people in to the IRS? Geez.

You're one of those douches that drives 1 mph over the speed limit in the left lane and won't move over for me because you think you're enforcing some societal moral code, huh? It's none of your business, boomer.

I had a bartender tell me once she didn't pay taxes on her cash tips so I reported her to the IRS but they just laughed at me.

He likely pays more in property taxes than you do, and likely more in income taxes than you do too.

Report him. Then your kid gets kicked out. She decides to shack with some douche named Travor that gets her knocked up and leaves her bc he wasn't ready for a kid. She's back on the street and has a miscarriage. She starts doing meth bc of guilt and depression.

Or you can mind your own business and enjoy cheap rent. Choice is yours

How much do you think he’s really getting out of paying? After his deductions he’s probably only making a small profit, unless he has multiple units, but still why would you even consider turning someone in?

Do you pay your housekeeper in cash? Lawn boy? Pool guy? Handyman? All cash right?

He might even be screwing himself. If he doesn't report his rental properties he's missing out on deductions for property taxes, insurance, interest, maintenance, fees, and depreciation on the building.

If he is showing a negative balance sheet, he's getting a solid return in tax breaks.

Is anyone physically restraining you from evading your own taxes? I don't see why you couldn't just do the same thing if you just had the balls to do it
