Wow, the article I saw didn't have any of this. It just said a woman was stabbed and the attacker was killed by police, but that they didn't know if any of the parties were related.

Ron was home at the time of the incident but had trouble communicating with officers because of a medical condition that impeded his speech

He's an appropriate age for full blown schizophrenia, I believe.
I only raise that because I know directly of two examples of otherwise successful, smart young people around that age having violent episodes involving family, one of which involved death of a parent by stabbing.
His reaction of blaming the dad may not vibe with that, however.
