I'm completely aware of the slippery slope that can start.

I honestly just don't understanding the pissing and moaning from the crowd for statues from traitors of the same nation that said crowd are citizens of.

Do we have statues of British war heroes around or wave England flags at sporting events?

You must've missed the part when I said I'm not an advocate of the removal of said statues.

Just that I won't sleep over it

I'll be honest here. This is the most I've seen you lose it. Lose it meaning really angry or seemingly so. I've also seen you make fun of or ignore some more important topics. Just an observation.

It's just frustrating to watch people naively think that this nonsense is some sort of cure for injustice knowing full well what the next steps will be. I don't understand how they think Washington or Jefferson will be deemed less evil than a Confederate general. It's coming and it going to happen faster than you think.

I could be wrong, but I think those flags have been removed and replaced with just 7 American flags.

I know in front of the Federal Courthouse that is the case. There used to be flags of all the nations that "ruled" Louisiana (including the confederate flag, though not the stars and bars), along with the LA state flag. Now there are just 7 American flags

How many times have I (or others) said it's all a design? The arguments are to divide. There is no power without division. There cannot be true Power if you can't have some doubt and conviction one way or another.

Hell, Lincoln is either the first or second biggest tyrant in American history.

nah man, like Sao said, you’re losing it baw.

This is it. This is the last thing holding back a certain community from taking accountability for their own problems instead of using oppression as a blanket excuse for failure.

Stop melting baw, hot enough outside without you dripping like a cheese grill in this thread. Don’t like, change the channel. Something like that.

They weren’t traitors to their country.

Judging people for owning slaves is retarded though. You completely ignore all that people have done in their fight for equality over the years when you judge people from 300 years ago based on today’s standards.

If you act like someone in 1776 should be held to the same standard as someone today, you’re literally saying everything that someone like MLK fought for was entirely irrelevant.

You think we voted on that or that they did it because of overwhelming support?

Colonial revolutionaries were traitors by default. The way I look at it is that if the government directly affected by the acts of the confederacy granted clemency to those that fought in the war, then it should be good enough for people 150 years later.

I get your argument. I'm saying that's not the argument these people are making. Soon they'll make supporting a statue of Washington as indefensible as they've made a confederate statue. Hell, they've already done it to Columbus.

I’m not saying it was put to a vote or something. I’m saying what you did. That this doesn’t have boundaries.
