Tankless hot water heater advice needed

I'm building a house, and I'm leaning towards the tankless hot water heater. It would have to be an electric one because of no nat gas in the area. Anyone have any experience with these?

INB4 Why are you heating hot water
God damn it, if I could spell correctly I wouldn't made it in.

Why do you need to heat water that's already hot?

Your best bet is to change it to "tankless water heater"

Put solar on your roof.
Get battery (tesla).
Power your on demand water heater with your own electricity.

You could also run propane

Just moved into a condo with one and love it. Super small and efficient. Works great with no lag in hot water. Not sure how well it would work in a larger space however

Not electric, but I have a gas one. Saves money on utilities by not heating water 24/7 and unlimited hot water. Only downside is that it takes 30-40 seconds for the hot water to start flowing out. I'll take that trade off any day

Sounds like you need a refrigerator

I have had one for about 3 years now. I put it in my house when we built. A board(electric not wood, for the OT Nazis) on it went out after a few months. It was still under warranty and I changed the board out myself. Other than that it has worked great. It does occasionally run out of hot water i.e. dishwasher and washing machine going at same time while taking a shower. But it only takes a few seconds to catch back up rather than 20-30 mins with traditional ones.

Since Rinnai doesn't make an electric one, I don't know what to suggest. Only one I know to avoid is Bosch. My house came with a gas Bosch unit and it was miserable. Had to go outside to reset it every time temps got in the 30s. We replaced it with a Rinnai 9.4GPM unit and have been luxuriating in hot water ever since. It was probably overkill given our house size, but not much more expensive than the smaller one.
A dishwasher makes its own hot water.

Go stick your hand in 120° water and report back if it is hot or not. But that only applies to a tanked one

Electric tankless are garbage. If you dont have Nat Gas get a propane tank and run it off of that.
