100% I started keeping my fish in a bag floating like 15-20’ from me after some close calls in muddy water

Has there ever been or does anyone know of a shark attack in the Louisiana marsh or South Louisiana coastline?

I believe there was an incident in Lake Pontchartrain 10+ years ago of a minor injury from a bull shark.

There has been a bull shark attack in Lake Ponchartrain.

Yea, commercial fisherman as far north as Simmesport catch them in the Atchafalaya when the condtitions are right. Happens more than you would think.

Without trying to sound insensitive here to the man and his family, but sharks get hungry just like the rest of us and they don’t have rules or should be expected to.

Enter their home at our own peril.

Do you really think that's wise? Seriously though, that would piss me off too.

It does seem they've moved closer lately but then again we offer near shore food services greater than ever, so why wouldn't they?

Sharks are like bears, they're perfectly willing and able to fight but obviously prefer to go for the easy kills if they can.

All that said, RIP surfer brother, what a terrifying and tragic way to go out.

Seeing a massive shark fin pop up next to me while boogie-boarding on Oahu in the late 90s scared me out of the ocean. I caught the next wave back onto shore and said no more. Most likely sharks are always around but it's obviously very rare to get attacked. Still, it was pretty jarring.

I lived in Maui before that. My neighbor was eaten alive by a Tiger Shark. She took swims every morning and one morning she ran into a hungry tiger shark.

frick that.
