Anyone toured the tall ships yet this weekend? I am considering going tomorrow morning before it gets too crowded, mainly for the USS Kearsage and the USCG Eagle

Curious how the wait times have been.

Closed toed shoes required to board ships. Also, always in the French Quarter if you’re smart.

Just got back. It’s extremely crowded. Made it on the Colombian one early but even at 7:55 there was a mile long line for the carrier. Not worth it lol.

The acres of obese boomers don’t help either

My sister got to the carrier ship yesterday at 8am and they didn’t board the ship till 10.
They also went to the Coast Guard ship but since my BIL is retired Coast Guard they were able to skip the line.

Went around 9. Lines looked to be 1-1.5 hrs long. Took some picks and headed back to the bar.

Eagle was here in Pensacola last weekend but we were in Fort Morgan all weekend.

Elissa had to reschedule to August and I plan on going to see it.

Spanish Navy Ship Juan Sebastián de Elcano came 3 years ago and we went to see it. Badass. Very impressive ship. Its in Galveston this weekend.

The crowds in the morning friday were impressive that early

I wish all the ships were closer together

The USA ones are a cluster, skip them

The tall ships were cool to see and are way bigger in person

The historical society museum on royal has a free American revolution exhibit that’s inside if you get tired of the heat

Went yesterday and it was good. Wait times are a little long for the 2 US ships but it was worth the time.
