I think it’s a CYA thing with the department since it’s a remedial class and we get lots of students with disabilities.
How do you feel about students with disabilities getting more time and other amenities to receive the same degree another student with no disability and no extras gets?

I've had teachers make people take off their watches before. Of course, that was with a group of students that were known cheaters, but I still thought that was ridiculous.
I took a make up exam with that teacher, and tried telling him that my watch with only hour, minute, and second hands was dumber than me, but he DGAF

I try not to think about it. Many disabilities are hindrances to accessibility to learning but don’t impact performance. So a deaf student needing a copy of lecture notes for example. That student is fully capable of earning a degree, but they need an accommodation for it to be possible.
I do get frustrated when students need double time on tests or essays because of anxiety.

I can't speak to the people with anxiety, but I can talk about myself.
Once I was able to take tests in a quiet room, my grades went from C, D, and F to A, B, and C. I had time and a half, but very rarely needed it once I got the accommodations. I was usually one of the first people to finish tests after that

The only way I was able to pass Quantitative Methods at NLU was by posting notes in the programmable calculator we were required to have for the class.

I would have never thought of that being a possible way to cheat.
If I had access to something during a test, I would think of ways to maximize it for cheating purposes.

If you're going to make it that ridiculously easy for your students to cheat, you absolutely deserve it.
Character is what you do when no one is watching.

Nope. Most of the questions are more application than recall, so it’s not like her watch could have given her much.

We've come a long way from Casio calculator watches and my beloved Ti-84. That thing got me through AP Calc with a passing grade.

I thought I was cutting edge writing math equations microscopically on the inside of a Dansani water bottle wrapper and filling it up with water to magnify my writing
